A little bit about the band membersLynn Sheppard - Bass and Vocals
I have been singing and playing Bass guitar for longer than I can remember, but enjoyed every minuet.
I have been fortunate enough to have met some awesome friends / Musicians through out my time and played in some amazing places.
Moving from my hometown of Bristol in 1984 to the Sunningdale/ Ascot/Camberley area I played with numerous local bands.
I played with a great band called Beats Working for many years and we used to air some of our own material along with our cover set.
A few years ago we formed a band named Alibi which consisted of Karen Adams, Andy Griffith, Chris Glover and Simon Pricket.
Alibi made some great music and became very popular in the area. Chris Glover and Simon Pricket found their daily workload very restrictive and was unable to commit to rehearsals and some gigs. It was at this time that the current line up was born.
The band was re-named; Adelaide Road and we welcomed Leo Farnon Jnr on board as our drummer.
The band has a great friendship and understanding amongst all members, a real family, and the rapport is fantastic! (Plus we make some good sounds)
We have many plans for the future including gigging and recording some of our own tracks ! (Watch this space)
Karen Adams - Lead singer
Born in Dublin Ireland I moved to the uk in 1986... Music has always been a huge part of my life but it was always on the other side of "the mic" as a keen festival and gig goer.
Time progressed and I moved from being a "kitchen sink singer" to doing my first gig!
As "A Celt" I was asked to sing at a Burns night in Hall Grove School. I sang in front of 60 parents all on my lonesome and managed to pull it off!
Following on from that, Hall Grove were hosting an open air event (Groove at the Grove) that summer. They asked me if I wanted to put a 45 minute set together and play. I said YES but then I had to find a band.....Aaaah....!!
I met Lynn Sheppard, Andy Grifiths, Simon Prickett and Chris Glover, and as established musicians they showed me the way and we played to over 1000 people....that was it I was hooked.
We carried on playing local venues and sometime later our line up changed Simon and Chris left and Leo Farnon joined us on drums.
Adelaide road was born.
As a four piece band we have a bond as friends and because of our love for the music we play...our harmonies are great and we have a great sound as the Adelaide roadsters.
Andy Griffith - Guitars and Vocals
I am into rock music with my favourite bands being Thunder, Def Leppard, Terrorvision and Muse from the UK and also really into The Eagles, Metallica, INXS, ACDC and the likes from around the world..
Supported Arsenal football club from an early age and had a long run playing Sunday football for the local pub team which i still go and support on match days. I really enjoy watching motor sports on the tele with F1 and Moto GP being favourites.
Love to watch comedy on tv with Celebrity Juice, Mrs Browns boys, Mock the week and QI among the ones i enjoy most.!
Fav Comedians are Lee Evens, Mickey Flannigan, Michael Mcintyre and Tim Minchant bbut there are also others i like to watch.
Hobbies include playing of said guitars and obviously playing in Adelaide Road..
Really get a buzz out of playing live to have people sing songs back to you is an amazing feeling.
Like to relax by having a beer down the local with me mates and having a laugh..
The music we playMusic is our life blood
Essentially Adelaide Road is a cover band, but a cover band with a difference... We cover songs from the likes of Christina Perry to the rocking Foo fighters... Unlike other cover bands we try to choose contempory tracks to cover. Our set list is split between lead vocalist Karen Mogerley Adams and Lynn Sheppard, many of our tracks are in duet and the harmonies that work between Karen Lynn and also Andy are second to none... Adelaide road have also started to write some of their own material and are looking forward to doing some more recording, so watch this space!!
